October Wrap Up and Goals to Come!

Underlined is the goal/task

Italic means wins (unless it's a title.)

Bold means fails

Italics and bold means progress

  • Read all of Job | Mostly a fail... I didn't read fiction, non-fiction, or the Bible as much as I wanted.

  • Start Psalms and Proverbs | Well, okay, I didn't do as much personal devotions as I hoped to, I kept my Bible reading goals separate from family devotions so that means I did more Bible reading, devotions, and merozation than I said as with Job, I just didn't do as much as I had hoped to do.

  • Edit Oh, The Lamented | Ughhh, changed this goal a bit and am okay with it since I wasn't ready to do it and am going to be doing in now in November. I just had other things to do and am not actually too down about it. Other things being more writing and less editing, like a lot of writing. My goal became to write 5-20,000 words with a total writing goal of 40,000 words added in October and November in all.

  • Make a list of what needs written for Oh, The Lamented | Same as the above answer...

  • Do real estate school | Ummm, well, I'm working on it... Maybe... Technically it can be done in three weeks, but I only started around the 24th, and I don't want to rush or do it too fast and miss, forget, or mix anything up so it's slow going. I'm not quite sure I'll do it after all since I'm looking into other things to do that may work better for me.

  • Send out my newsletter | Did it, I wasn't sure I would, but I did send it out... Late though it was.

  • Figure out what projects to work on next | Done, done, done, and done! Like really done, well done even! I have so many things to do, ideas to work on, and stories to write, so, yes, the writing side of projects is lined up. Blogging isn't too structured so I'm not making any plans on that really, umm, reading I have about 5 books I'm hoping to read, and anything else is in my goals below.

  • Participate in FFF | Finished. And I had so much fun, I hope you did too!

  • Work on a short story | YES, totally done! I wrote it in nearly a night, well, of it was written in one night and yeah, I was up way too late, but I wrote a story, lol. So, written, edited, and share with early readers!

  • Post at least 10 times on my blog | Done, done, done! Okay, I didn't really count FFF in my 10 posts, but I did more than 10 counting those so it's gonna go in my count.

  • Post 5-10 times on Instagram | Done with 12 as of when I'm updating the to do list but I may end up with more since I have an idea for a post, have a cover to share for the lovely Grace A.Johnson, and may be on a launch team plus I'll be sharing more about Seize the Night!

  • Read five books | Done, wow, I didn't really expect to read any books since I've had this crazy reading slump so long, but I did! I read several good books, even. I did talk about several of the books during FFF, but I'll share them again here anyway; Framed in Death Valley by Dana Mentink, The Love of a Princess by Ashton E. Dorow, Seize the Night (okay, beta read and helped edit M.L.'s story and wrote my own but it counts, right?), my review of Always a Wedding Planner another read from October,

  • Bake/make at least two loaves of pumpkin bread, banana bread muffins, zucchini muffins, lemon loaf, (make and freeze) pumpkin parfaits, garlic bread, biscuits, and see what else happens | Well, plans for baking are always the hardest to keep... But! I did make a chicken calzone, berry pastries, pumpkin cake/ice cream cake pop/truffles, buffalo chicken dip, and buffalo chicken enchilada style wraps with left over chicken and wraps, potatoes al gratin, hot chocolate, chocolate chip pumpkin cookies (sugar free with coconut sugar!), banana blueberry muffins, blueberry lemon cheesecake, chicken gravy, tomato soup, Irish soda bread with garlic spread and dipped in seasoned olive oil... all of which were gluten and dairy free!

  • Make coffee (ehhh, when a family is as big as ours there's about three pots gone through in a day... the teens and adults in our house may have an addiction, but coffee is as always, my favorite headache cure. Dontcha agree? 😜) | Yep, did this one, like a lot... Man, do I love coffee, as you noticed with it being on my goals list...

  • Figure out if I'm sharing the rest of the Oh, The Brave covers in November or not... (I'd love to hear y'all's thoughts!) | Sign-ups for the reveal are HERE! They close later this week so hurry to join if you haven't already.

Man, I didn't really know if I would succeed in doing everything I hope to do, but I did, including everything on my personal to do list.

Now, my November hopes are...

  • Finish at least one write/read through of Oh, The Lamented.

  • Do writing camp and keep up with my writing goals.

  • Read a book or two.

  • Read all of Matthew and Proverbs.

  • Read some of Psalms.

  • Finish going over the submissions for Seize the Night.

  • Format, and finish the anthology

  • Decide on launch prep for Seize the Night.

  • Do baking for my birthday, Thanksgiving, and have a video call bake party with a friend.

  • Send out a newsletter or two... We'll see!

  • Finish making a new playlist, I've been meaning to do this for like two months so it's going on my hope to do list.

  • Keep up with everything I need to do around the house.

  • Do 5-10 blog posts.

  • Post 3 or more times a week on Instagram and Facebook.

  • Bible journal twice a week.

  • Reveal covers for Oh, The Brave.

  • Make freezer meals... Mostly things to grab out for lunch.

And that is that for October and November!

See ya, booknerds!
