Fairy Tale Frenzy: Applications Open!

If you have any friends who may be write fairy tales (historical, contemporary, and/or fantasy!) would you share about Beyond the Bookery's and Mountain Peak Edits & Design's first ever Fairy Tale Frenzy? We'd love to reach 75 applications this month and we just hit 50!

Calling all writers of clean fairy tale retellings:

Beyond the Bookery wants to invite you to participate in one of many fairy tale retelling collections. These are no ordinary collections, however. No, instead of BtB deciding a certain fairy tale to retell, we want you to decide! And it's not just fantasy we want to publish. No, we want the three bigs: fantasy, historical, and contemporary!

Here's how it works: you tell us through this form what fairy tales you'd like to retell, and we'll pair you with like-minded writers to create a marvelous collection of fairy tale retellings. You can choose whether to be in a collection where only one tale is retold, or a collection with numerous tales retold (or, a mix of retellings). Individual stories will be 20,000-25,000 words long.

What's provided: BtB will provide final edits, formatting, cover design, a no-stress environment, and plenty of encouragement.

What is the cost? You pay no monetary cost.

What you must do: fill out this form and, once you receive the acceptance email, write your story! Based on the replies we receive, we will pair authors with similar goals and deadlines so no one is stressed.

Royalties: Royalties will be split through Pubshare and will be equally distributed between the authors, and BtB.

It is beneficial to participate because: Collections, also known as anthologies, are an easy, low-stress method of publishing. They're great for any author whether it's your debut or your fiftieth publication. You aren't the only one marketing your story and this is a great way to expand your readership and find some new fans.
